By optimizing workflows and supporting machine learning processes, you’ll help turn data into actionable insights, serving up scalable solutions for the future!YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- You will ensure high data quality and consistency by implementing validation, testing, and monitoring processes, and maintaining clear data lineage and documentation to ensure a single source of truth
- Oversee the Snowflake data warehouse, define data architecture and ensure efficient data storage and querying capabilities, while staying up to date with the latest features and functionality
- Design and maintain robust data pipelines to ingest data from third-party sources (e.g. Fivetran, Snowpipe, or alternatives) and native sources (e.g. MS SQL and Postgres databases), optimizing for cost, performance, and scalability
- Collaborate closely with the internal software engineering team to ensure that changes and updates to source data models are accurately reflected in the data pipeline
- Structure and implement data transformation workflows in DBT, establish best coding practices, maintain data lineage and ensure scalability of the models
- Create consistent and reliable pipelines that serve business intelligence and analytics
- Automate and scale data workflows, integrating orchestration tools like Airflow to improve efficiency and reliability
- Design an effective integration of the data warehouse with ML processes, improving our ability to support machine learning workflows and data-driven predictions
- Integrate data from multiple regions (Switzerland and US), ensuring proper row-level security, data governance, compliance, and adhering to privacy requirements and regulations
WHO YOU ARE:
- You have 4+ years of industry experience in data engineering and have a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Proficient in SQL and have a solid understanding of data architecture and modeling, with experience in DBT
- Good understanding of Python is a plus
- Experience in working with cloud-based data platforms, particularly Snowflake, and are familiar with data ingestion tools such as Fivetran and Snowpipe or similar
- Committed to maintaining high data quality, and you understand the importance of well-documented data lineage and KPIs
- Strong understanding of automation and scaling techniques for data workflows, including using orchestration tools like Airflow
- Experience managing and optimizing data pipelines, focusing on performance and scalability
- With your service-oriented mindset and close collaboration with BI engineers and software developers, you will ensure that the data stack meets their needs
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, with a focus on delivering business value and enabling decision-making

- EU/EFTA or Swiss residence permit
