We do this today to build a better tomorrow.The Opportunity:The Diagnostics Compliance Operations department is responsible for the data and process baseline along the entire chemical-legally compliant and sustainable product lifecycle (e.g. development, transport/handling, marketing and disposal) of all Roche Diagnostics products. This means that we are not only irreplaceable in ensuring compliance for the benefit of our patients, but also pursue the goal of significantly and sustainably reducing the environmental impact of all our products and services. In order to be able to continue to do this successfully, we are looking for YOU with immediate effect.As an Intern, you are a valuable member of the team and you are encouraged to add a great contribution. Your tasks will be related to Supplier Management for EH&S Data, Automation and/or supporting projects managed by our Team.Your activities will be:Be a member of a global team responsible for managing data and processes along the entire chemical-legally compliant and sustainable product lifecycle. Support and get assignments for internal and global tasks such as:Providing Quality oversight for Roche Diagnostics Direct Material Suppliers for the Roche Instruments (existing and in Development). Responsibility includes managing Supplier EH&S Data Questionnaires for Chemical Legislation such as REACH, RoHS, POP, TSCA, California Proposition 65, Packaging Directive, Battery Directive, WEEEInteracting directly with suppliers, internal customers, and subject matter experts to ensure thorough evaluation and accuracy of EH&S Data following company standard using appropriate IT tools (e.g. SAP Production Systems, EH&S(M))Ensuring data governance, quality and integrity (according to the data strategy); as well as performing plausibility checks (e.g. against relevant chemical regulatory legislation)Eliminate waste by radically simplifying processes with an emphasis on automating redundant manual processes and foster automated report creation for the network using tools such as RPA (Robotics Process Automation, .Google App Scripts, Tableaux etc.Support the Compliance Operations Team in continuous improvement projects, such as continuous development and automation of the EHS data management for articles or substances/mixtures, IT system architecture and supplier management processesFurther take away opportunities that we offer for our interns:Many learning and training opportunities that will help improve your personal development and can significantly influence your own careerLearn to move in a global company, to network and to collaborate with stakeholder groupsInteraction with Roche global and local and external stakeholdersBe a member of our Interns Network and get to experience the culture of Basel in the heart of EuropeWe are keen to discover talents who are passionate about learning and show great curiosity in discovering new things. You are looking for an interesting and versatile internship for 12 months in the medtech/ diagnostics industry and you are interested to experience a modern working environment.You will bring along the following profile for this internship:Interest in chemical regulatory compliance and sustainability, EH&S data governance, supplier oversight and stakeholder managementExcellent organizational skills and a flexible approach to coordinate demanding workloads as well as the ability to adapt to changesAbility to work effectively and independently within a diverse group of peopleVery good Microsoft Office and Google skillsVery good English skills are required.
