Emerging Technologies is responsible for the definition of new opportunities, breakthrough-technologies scouting, lab-scale proof-of-principle studies, and demonstrating proof-of-concept at large scale.Our team develops and delivers projects that are primarily related to two key MSAT strategic pillars: Process Intensification and Integrated Quality & Real-Time Release. Our team reimagines the way we run and control our manufacturing processes! Thereby, driving key advancements in yield, reliability, and efficiency end-to-end.To accelerate the delivery of proof-of-principle & proof-of-concept packages for Manufacturing of Large Molecules / Biologics, we are looking for an internship/master thesis student in Schaffhausen. The successful candidate will work along with MSAT Emerging Technologies and Clinical Manufacturing & Technology (CM&T).Starting date: as soon as possible.General Responsibilities:Your key responsibility is to support the at-scale testing of process analytical technologies of biopharmaceutical manufacturing through preparation, design, and execution of proof-of-concept studies together with our lab-based scientists and partners in R&D and Supply Chain. Through active partnering within MSAT as well with key functions from R&D and across the supply chain, like Quality, Operations, and Digital, you play a substantial role in advancing technologies and process innovations.Key Responsibilities
- Collaborating on system integration of sensors into existing production lines for flawless operation.
- Assessing the impact of process variables on sensor measurements during at-scale evaluations.
- Preparation of and starting GMP integration activities
- Knowledge management & creation of documentation standards
- Documenting findings through reports and electronic lab notebooks (ELNs) to formalize the study.
Other tasks
- Support other activities in the team and work area according to appropriate procedures, values, and standards on an ad-hoc basis as the need arises.
- Support the Large Molecule Drug Product Innovation Community
QualificationsEducation:
- Ongoing Masters or Bachelors in an engineering or scientific field (preferred Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical related). Preference for students with backgrounds in optics, physical chemistry, or pharmaceutical sciences. Past exposure to analytical instruments in a lab or GMP setting is a plus.
Experience and Skills:
- Skills in programming and data analysis are highly desirable.
- Good accountability and organizational skills
- Proactive demeanor
- Fluency in English
