Learn more at https://www.jnj.comJob Function: Communications & Corporate/External AffairsJob Sub Function: Multi-Family Communications & Corporate/External AffairsJob Category: People LeaderAll Job Posting Locations: Allschwil, Switzerland, Diegem, Flemish Brabant, Belgium, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom, Zug, SwitzerlandJob Description:EMEA Business & Leadership Comms LeaderLocation: Diegem – Belgium, Zug – Switzerland, High Wycombe – United KingdomContract: Full TimeOverall Purpose of this Job:As the EMEA Business & Leadership Communications Leader at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine (IM), you will be responsible for mobilizing the IM EMEA organization to deliver on the business strategy and for enabling IM leaders to elevate J&J reputation across the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region.As a senior leader within the EMEA CPA Leadership Team, you will manage and oversee executive and internal communications, and leadership and employee engagement across EMEA markets.Acting as a key advisor to the EMEA Chairman you will provide counsel and support, leading the strategic planning and execution of their external and internal engagement activities.You will report to the Vice President of J&J IM EMEA Communications & Public Affairs (CPA) and collaborate closely with the global CPA leadership team and the EMEA commercial leadership team.Key Responsibilities and impact:Lead Executive Communications
- Lead EMEA Chairman communications from both an external and internal perspective. Provide strategic communications support and counsel to the EMEA Chairman while, developing and executing their communications strategy, to enhance their presence in support of the company’s reputation and business strategy.
- Provide strategic support to the regional leadership team (ELT) as required, providing council and delivering programs with cross-regional remits.
- Establish a cross-regional executive communications platform in collaboration with the EMEA Reputation Lead. Lead and coordinate executive engagement to elevate IM EMEA Leaders’ visibility in a strategic and coordinated manner to advance J&J IM reputation in the region.
- Develop and deploy frameworks, tools, messaging, and content to support executive communications across the region.
- Serve as the EMEA point of contact for Global Leadership and Organizational Communications network. Ensuring close alignment with global colleagues to enable leaders to show up in a consistent manner and with one voice.
Lead Business Communications
- Lead the communications of IM business and organizational strategy internally, and externally in collaboration with relevant CPA EMEA Leaders.
- Lead change communications for critical EMEA-wide business initiatives and transformations.
- Develop and deploy frameworks, tools, messaging, and content to support business communications across the region.
- Provide communications guidance and consulting to EMEA regional senior leaders in support of critical business priorities.
Lead Leadership Engagement
- Lead IM EMEA Leadership Engagement and Community strategy, ensuring senior leaders are informed, engaged and equipped to implement business strategy and increase employee engagement, to increase business performance in the region.
- Lead or co-lead IM EMEA Leadership events, including the annual EMEA Management Forum (EMF)
- Develop and deploy frameworks, tools, messaging, and content to support IM leaders across the region.
Lead Employee Engagement
- Lead IM EMEA Employee Engagement strategy, ensuring employees are informed, engaged and equipped to implement business strategy to increase business performance in the region.
- Lead key regional Employee events, including EMEA Town Hall meetings
- Develop and deploy frameworks, tools, messaging, and content to support Employee Engagement across the region.
Develop Business & Leadership Communications Capabilities and Community in EMEA:
- Establish and enhance Business & Leadership Communications capabilities across the region, ensuring alignment with global standards and best practices.
- Lead the creation of an EMEA Business & Leadership Communications capability community to promote strategy consistency and effectiveness across markets.
- Develop and implement regional playbooks, messaging, toolkits, trainings, and materials tailored for local Operating Companies’ needs.
Lead Research and Insights:
- Generate and leverage key insights from audience research to continuously refine and improve impact of Business & Leadership Communications strategies.
- Monitor and analyze industry and reputational trends and competitive benchmarks to adapt strategies that best support business priorities and drive competitiveness.
- Implement and track standardized metrics (KPIs) aligned with global CPA to monitor performance, driving a consistent measurement framework across the region.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach and develop 1-2 direct report(s)
- Lead the EMEA Business & Leadership Community of approximately 10-15 CPA professionals, setting priorities and organizing work through the community of practice and squads.
- Is responsible for capability building and continuous development in the area of business and leadership communication.
- As a member of the CPA EMEA Leadership Team, lead initiatives supporting key cross-CPA EMEA organizational priorities including talent, strategy and transformation.
- Act as regional representative to the Global Leadership and OC network ensuring alignment and regional input on key initiatives, and act as a partner to Enterprise and MedTech L& OC teams.
- Actively contribute to UPWARD, our global CPA leadership community.
We would like if You have:Key Requirements:
- At least 10 years of experience in corporate communications, executive communications, or a similar role within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Proven success in leading executive communications at a senior management level (C-suite).
- Strong leadership and excellent interpersonal skills, capable of operating at senior level with high strategic thinking, creating and maintaining relationships with a variety of stakeholders and mobilizing teams around ambitious and innovative projects.
- Significant experience in leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams, with expertise in managing cross-functional collaboration within matrixed organizations.
- Experience in reputation or public affairs is desirable.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strategic thinking abilities, with experience building relationships with senior stakeholders across multiple markets.
- Experience and/or interest in leading transformation and agile ways of working.
- Ability to mentor and train others in effective communication practices.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast evolving and complex environment, balancing multiple priorities while aligning with business goals.
- University degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Political Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Fluency in English; additional language skills in EMEA are a plus.
Additional Information:
- This role requires travel across the EMEA region as needed.
