Our clientOur client is a large industrial and engineering global corporation.Job descriptionIn the context of the expansion of the engineering team based in Switzerland, we are looking for a senior automation engineer.The hired person will work with clients in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sector in projects related with decentralized control systems (DCS) across Switzerland, with particular focus on clients in the Basel Area.The core responsibilities can be summarized as follows:· Develop functional and design specifications for control systems (both software and hardware), including the application configuration· Perform design studies and quality documents for projects according to the project specifications and in line with the applicable procedures and quality plans· Perform internal test and customer acceptance tests of the configured control system, both in-house and at customer sites· Provide commissioning and start-up support at customer sites as well as after sales service and training· Assist the sales organisation in demonstrations, presentations and engineering estimatesCandidate profile· We are looking for somebody with a background in Engineering or Science, preferably in Process Automation Engineering / Electrical Engineering.· We expect at least 5 years of experience in a similar role as Automation Engineer, ideally in the Pharma / Biotech / Life Sciences industry.· Experience with batch production processes and the configuration of batch automation process would be a strong plus.· Expertise with GAMP (Good Automated Manufacturing Practice) [GAMP5] would be a strong asset.· Expertise with one or multiple widely used DCS systems in the market, like Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell Experion, Siemens Simatic, ABB 800xA, Yokogawa Centum, etc.· In terms of soft skills, we value strong interpersonal skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, tact and diplomacy.· Fluent English is a must for the job. Additional languages, particularly German, would be an asset.OfferOur client provides training programs and initiatives focus on end-to-end development, from onboarding through senior leadership.
