As part of this growth, we are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to strengthen our Business Development team in the role of:Head of Portfolio Strategy Emerging Markets 100% (f/m/d)The Head of Portfolio Strategy will be responsible for leading the development and execution of portfolio management strategies for Acino focused on emerging markets. This role will focus on optimizing the company’s pipeline, ensuring alignment with growth objectives and unmet medical needs across key therapeutic areas in emerging markets (LATAM, CIS, Africa, MENA).This position can be based in Zurich (Switzerland) or Dubai (UAE).Your Opportunities:

  • Portfolio Planning and Optimization: Lead the strategic planning of the company’s portfolio, balancing risk and innovation to ensure a robust pipeline that supports long-term growth across emerging markets.
  • Therapeutic Area Leadership: Identify and prioritize high-potential therapeutic areas and products, aligning the portfolio strategy with market opportunities, unmet medical needs, and scientific trends in emerging markets.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with BD, commercial, regulatory, and market access teams to ensure that portfolio decisions are scientifically sound, commercially viable, and aligned with regional regulatory frameworks.
  • Market and Competitive Intelligence: Conduct deep analyses of market trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging scientific data to guide portfolio prioritization and new product introductions.
  • Resource Allocation and Forecasting: Develop portfolio forecasts and scenario planning, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to achieve maximum return on investment across key markets.
  • Risk Management: Proactively manage portfolio risks by ensuring a balance between innovative and established products, continuously assessing portfolio performance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with external partners, including biotech companies, academic institutions, and regulatory bodies, to foster innovation and ensure successful portfolio expansion.

Who you are:

  • Advanced degree in life sciences, business administration, or a related field (MBA or PhD preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in portfolio management, strategy, or product development in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Proven track record in managing large, diverse portfolios in the emerging markets region
  • Strong understanding of global market dynamics, therapeutic trends, and regulatory environments in emerging markets
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, decision-making, and leadership skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken / Other languages skills are a plus
