Geographic location of the position is preferable in Germany (Cologne or Munich) or in Switzerland (Schaffhausen). This incumbent of the role is responsible for the design and execution of the Operational Go-to-Market strategy for the entire EMEA region, in collaboration with the VP Sales EMEA and respective regional leaders.Commercial Operations Director EMEA
- Supervise all Instruments (New products from our manufacturing) and Service (Calibration, maintenance and demonstration units) operations for Europe
- Management of back- office departments, e.g. order management, sales enablement and operation analysts, trade compliance, logistics, warehouse, used equipment sales – leading a team of 4 managers and extended team of ca. 25 employees.
- Creation of strategic vision for the operations team including critical performance metrics to support the execution of the vision
- Coaching and development of the team to support individual development needs as well as ensuring a highly engaged team.
- Optimization and adaptation of internal processes, targeting internal and external customer satisfaction and identification of cost saving potentials.
- Support of the marketing and sales organization by providing innovative operational support and internal process improvement.
- Improvements to the existing systems in terms of data quality and workflows, including Oracle, CRM and other internal tools.
- Oversight the order management / sales administration for all orders inside Europe and India
- Oversight of the logistics’ strategy for EMEA; including offshore logistic support for our manufacturing facilities in Asia and the US, as well as logistics services for maintenance, calibration and repair and demonstration units inside Europe.
- Ensure the Operations department’s compliance with all trade and export control regulations.
- This role will directly report to the VP of Sales EMEA and will be part of the EMEA leadership team.
Candidate requirements:The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:
- University degree in Operations Management, Logistics Management or Business Administration, is preferred.
- English speaker, German language skills are advantageous.
- Strong ‘customer satisfaction’ mindset
- Demonstrated ability in Commercial operations: crafting and driving strategy and vision of the department.
- Proven experience in leading a team of managers, with a track record of consistent results and high engagement scores.
- Strong executive communication and presence as well as strategic approach
- Ability to assimilate information from multiple sources to accelerate or course correct
