Our unit Gas-Insulated Switchgears (GIS), based in Zürich-Oerlikon, is active in the development and production of gas insulated switching systems. We ensure the high reliability of our systems by using state-of-the-art development tools and methods.We are seeking a motivated and skilled Project Lead Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical planning and execution of gas-insulated switchgear projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.How you will make an impactProject planning and technical detailing of gas-insulated switchgear, including preparation of all necessary documents for order, fabrication, assembly and customersDiscussion of technical solutions with customers and internal stakeholdersManagement of all technical communication channels internally as well as externallyProject execution and ordering of required material including necessary configurationResponsibility for project costs, deadlines & scope of deliveryDetailed elaboration of quality cases and improvement processesTechnical support of the project until completion of on-site assemblyOccasional travel to customer meetings or site visitsYour backgroundBachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering2-5 years of relevant work experience in project engineering, ideally with gas-insulated switchgear or in a similar fieldProficiency in CAD software (e.g. Creo, AutoCAD) and other engineering toolsExperience with SAP and Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to assist in developing project schedules and tracking progressFamiliar with supporting various project phases, including production, transportation, installation, and testingStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and escalate issuesExperience in coordinating resources, including materials and equipmentAbility to work effectively within an international team environment and collaborate with other departmentsFluent in English; proficiency in other languages (e.g. German, Spanish or French) is a plusMore about usOur flexible work practices help you optimize personal and business performance while creating an environment where all employees can develop their skills and grow.Qualified individuals with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation if you are unable or limited in your ability to use or access the Hitachi Energy career site as a result of your disability.
