Job Description:Job Opportunity: VIP Nanny for International Family in SwitzerlandAbout the RoleOn behalf of our partner agency in Switzerland, we are delighted to present a wonderful opportunity for an experienced and professional nanny to join a warm, kind, and busy international family. This high-profile family is looking for a dedicated nanny to focus on early childhood development and education for their thriving baby girl, who is nearly 12 months old. The role is based primarily in Switzerland, with regular travel to exciting destinations.The FamilyThis family, known for their warmth and kindness, splits their time between their beautiful homes in Zurich and the Swiss Alps. They also travel extensively, including spending six weeks in New York twice a year. The ideal nanny will be an integral part of their lives, helping their daughter learn, grow, and thrive.Key Responsibilities
- Providing loving, attentive, and nurturing care for a nearly 12-month-old baby girl.
- Supporting the child’s early development, encouraging learning, independence, and physical play.
- Planning and engaging in fun, educational activities to promote her emotional, physical, and social development.
- Ensuring alignment with the family’s gentle parenting approach—positivity, patience, and respect are essential.
- Overseeing the child’s laundry, wardrobe, and ensuring she is fully catered for. (They have a cook and housekeeper)
- Occasionally cooking for the child when required.
- Planning and organising the packing and preparation of the baby’s belongings for frequent travel.
- Working collaboratively with the family to discuss the child’s progress, needs, and routines. The parents are very open to advice regarding best practice.
Role Details
- Schedule: 50 hours per week across 5 or 5 ½ days.
- Travel: Regular travel within Switzerland and internationally, including extended stays in New York.
- Accommodation: They are likely to arrange for a separate flat nearby for privacy and comfort. During travel, the nanny will have a private room within the family’s accommodation.
- Team Support: The family employs housekeeping staff and a cook. Over time, a second nanny or nanny-housekeeper may be added to provide additional support.
Requirements
- Full EU or Swiss passport holder and eligible for an ESTA work visa for travel to the US.
- Fluency in English to communicate effectively with parents. Proficiency in German or French is highly advantageous.
- Proven experience in working with young children, especially with a focus on early childhood development.
- Warm, nurturing, and able to set clear boundaries in alignment with gentle parenting principles.
- Strong organisational skills, particularly for planning travel arrangements and packing.
- Discretion and professionalism in handling VIP and high-profile family environments.
