We organize regular activities to enable our people to meet colleagues from other teams in an informal setting, and to celebrate special achievements.Job summaryAs Sustainability Specialist your primary responsibility will be split between advising commercial teams about sustainability requirements when trading sustainable products and maintaining our management systems to ensure compliance with our legal requirements as well as compliance with voluntary schemes. A continuous focus on further improvement and optimization of existing sustainability processes and tools is part of the responsibility of each team member. You will work in close collaboration with the sustainability team as well as with the various commercial teams dealing with sustainable products. The job has an international scope and requires travelling (30 – 40%).Job Description
- Advise (proactive and on demand) the various internal stakeholders on sustainability implications in relation to our trades and our asset related activities
- Stay on top of legislative changes in the relevant jurisdictions and when required proactively propose within the sustainability team what Vitol should do to anticipate these changes. This includes changes in relation to voluntary schemes and national ticket systems
- Execute the PoS process from receipt until issuance. This includes checking accuracy of PoS, updating our management systems, registering PoSs in the UDB and sending PoSs to our customers
- Manage national ticket schemes such a THG, RTFC and HBE by creating and executing the transfer of tickets
- Maintain and review our mass-balances
- Coordinate, prepare and play an active role in (re-)certification audits
- Participate in providing bespoke sustainability training to internal stakeholders
- Support development of system and process improvements
- Participate in external stakeholder meetings regarding legislative and certification requirements on the sustainability of the products we trade
- Support the Sustainability Manager in formalising internal procedures and policies in relation to product sustainability
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management or accounting
- Minimal 5 years of relevant experience in sustainability (for example RED I, II, III and ISCC or similar voluntary schemes)
- Inhouse experience in commodity trading
- Experience in the aviation, marine and chemical sectors is an advantage
- Demonstrable experience with data analytics and process optimization
- Strong administrative skills
- Project management experience is a plus
- Experience with ERP and other software
- Good Excel and numerical skills
