You will be part of a small and dynamic team within “Daily Banking & Payments” in the Business Operations department, focused on providing excellent service to internal and external clients. The main responsibility will be to ensure day to day operations in a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) environment. You will also be expected to deal with investigations and operational issues avoiding escalations where possible. The role will also be involved in process improvement and project implementation. You will report to the Head of Middle Office.Key accountabilities
- Manage daily middle & back-office operations covering corporate actions, settlements, transfers, reconciliation, cash operations, tax and reporting including QI/FATCA topics)
- Act as a key point of contact for internal clients (Front Office, Trade Execution etc.) providing daily support
- Daily communication with third parties for service requests and investigations
- Solve day-to-day operational issues to avoid escalations or manage them accordingly
- Ensure timely execution of periodic controls
- Control the quality of outsourced activities and manage relationships
- Take initiative to propose enhancements related to processes and controls and follow through with consequent implementation
- Act as subject matter expert, representing middle office in strategic and regulatory projects from business impact analysis, process and workflow documentation, UAT testing, to business integration activities. Ideally you can selectively also lead middle office related projects
Your skills and experience
- Proven experience (5+ years) in an internationally exposed Middle Office function in banking, FinTech or related industries.
- Experience (2+ years) in delivering operational support services, managing inquiries, handling investigations and effectively resolving issues.
- Additional years of working in other business lines such as back office, front, or supporting functions like Compliance is an asset.
- Broad and in depth understanding of banking operations or specific in a certain sector.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with the capacity to understand complex operational issues, whilst identifying and addressing business needs in a client-centric manner.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, multi-task and work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Mandatory languages: English.
- Capable of identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing an end-to-end process
