As the world`s largest R&D spender in the pharmaceutical and diagnostics domain, they work in a vast number of drug discovery & therapeutic areas and are highly recognized internationally.We are currently looking for a UX Researcher for Usability Lab for a 12-month contract (with high possibility for extension) based in Zug area, Switzerland.Home Office: max. 3 days/weekBackground:Our client is looking for a passionate UX Researcher for Usability Lab to redefine User Interface and Product design and transform the Healthcare industry for the better.You will join an international group of more than 50 researchers and designers that serve the purpose to bring the voice of customers to the core of decisions by designing and enabling a seamless patient-centric experience across the portfolio of products and services. You will be part of a motivated team whose mission is to scale up the usability testing practice within the company, automate processes around usability testing as a formative evaluation method, identification of key partners, training and evangelizing usability testing methods.As a Principal Researcher in the Usability and CX Lab you will be part of the most advanced usability program on the market, designed to immerse users in close to real-life environments to gather ultra-fidelity insights. You will play a key role in the development of the next generation of products and solutions by ensuring that usability testing is performed with the right tools, processes and quality. You will be part of the usability lab and work alongside different project teams contributing to their usability studies.You will be responsible for leading and documenting different tests using methodologies such as A/B testing, unmoderated usability tests and VR concept testing in addition to moderated formative usability evaluations. You will be responsible to lead and document studies aimed to provide insights for the development team to improve the design as well as to provide objective evidence that the design outputs of a certain phase in the product development life-cycle are meeting all requirements.Main Responsibilities:
- Identify user profiles, tasks, hazard-related use scenarios, usability risks and requirements
- Responsible for translating UX research insights, user needs, business requirements and technical requirements into pleasant and efficient User Experiences
- Plan and execute formative usability studies
- Provide guidance and mentorship to more junior designers supporting them on professional development, output and productivity
- Cooperate with the UX and Human Factors team to identify synergies and improve processes, shared methods and templates
- Advocate for accessibility, quality and usability for end-users
- Support team members on the usability testing process and methods
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required
- BSc in Science, Industrial Engineering, Psychology, Human Factors Engineering or other related technical field
- Min. +4 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience with formative evaluations methods, including usability testing
- Experience collecting and analyzing physiological and behavioral data
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate know-how, experiences, ideas, solutions and deliverables effectively and persuasively
- Knowledgeable about tools or platforms to automate usability testing
- You like to stay informed about industry trends and best practices related to usability testing and other formative evaluation methods
- Fluent in English

- Experienced in planning, executing and documenting usability studies in the medical field
- Knowledge managing testing participant databases
