MissionThe Policy & Sustainability (PASU) lab at EPFL conducts applied and theoretical research on the economics and politics of sustainable development, as well as the policies to achieve it. More information at: .
We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow to join our team to work on a new SNSF-funded project on Managing a Just Transition to Net Zero. This project aims (1) to measure economic/job vulnerabilities to the clean energy transition at the individual and regional level (drawing on labor market surveys and LLM), (2) to collect original survey data on individual-level policy preferences in response to the negative effects of decarbonization, and (3) to conduct quantitative impact assessments of ‹just transition› policies implemented around the world.Main duties and responsibilities

  • Co-oversee the implementation of the project with the PI.
  • Take the lead on work packages related to the candidate’s expertise.
  • Mentor PhD students involved in the project.
  • Limited contribution to education at the College of Management (to be discussed).

Profile

  • A PhD in quantitative social sciences (economics, public policy, political science, etc.) or in computational social science.
  • An interest in problems related to climate, sustainability, energy, and/or labor economics.
  • Ability and/or desire to work in a team/lab setting.
  • Fluent in English (French not required)
