We believe that user privacy underpins democratic freedoms in a networked world, and we’re proud to help roll back the surveillance society.Nym is at the forefront of privacy technology, we are now seeking a skilled Sys-Admin / DevOps Engineer to come on-board, who shares our passion for privacy-preserving products and decentralisation.This role requires a junior engineer with a holistic understanding of the web security, self-hosted systems and day-to-day working on Linux. The individual should love making things run perfectly, whilst ensuring the highest levels of systems security across the business.In Your First Month, You Might:
- Gain an understanding of Nym’s current infrastructure and self-hosted systems.
- Handle hardware maintenance, networking, and infrastructure automation.
- Identify pain points and propose long-term improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle hardware maintenance, networking, and system monitoring.
- Prepare groundwork and business readiness for security audits (Security audits will not be implemented by you).
- Automate processes using Terraform, Kubernetes (k8s), and scripting.
- Improve containerization and deployment workflows.
- Work alongside engineering and operations teams to ensure smooth performance.
- Take ownership of external systems relationships, hardware procurement, and maintenance.
Key Experience:
- 1+ years of experience (can include internship) as a SysAdmin, SRE, DevOps, or similar.
- Strong networking and hardware maintenance skills.
- Proficiency in infrastructure automation and monitoring.
- Experience with Kubernetes (k8s), Terraform, and containerization.
- Ability to work fast and efficiently in a startup environment.
- Comfortable taking ownership and responsibility without micromanagement.
- Experience with cryptographic key management, including multi-sig and secret management.
- Based in EU or Schengen zones
